travel north america united states utah bryce canyon national park

Bryce Canyon National Park, found at an elevation of 8,000 - 9,000 feet, has the largest concentration of "hoodoos" found anywhere on earth.
Hoodoos are the name given to irregular columns of rock.
My first visit to Bryce came in October of 2018 and it was spectacular.
We started our visit at the far south end of the park road at Rainbow Point and worked our way back to the entrance.
When we visited, traffic was light and the crowds were small and managable.
For this reason, we chose to drive ourselves to the various points of interest instead of taking the shuttle.
For the most part, the park road runs along a ridge to lookouts and trail heads that look down on the fantastic rock formations below along the same ridge.
I would recommend a visit to Bryce to anyone who can deal with the altitude.
